So put down that fruit cake you’ve picked out for your neighbor and call us now. We want to help you set up a truly memorable gift that will have every family member hoping you’ve drawn their name.

You know, on second thought, go ahead and get that fruit cake for your neighbor. We think it’s time you bought yourself a gift. Head on over to our promotions page and treat yourself to a slice of Pineapple Hospitality.

Park Your Traffic Woes

Does your commute through Seattle involve the Alaskan Way Viaduct? Are you looking to avoid the traffic headache while it’s closed?

Many commuters are choosing to park their vehicles and take alternate modes of transportation to work. Some are planning to telecommute or work from home to avoid the expected snarled traffic along many routes in Seattle. A growing number of Seattleites are choosing to stay in local hotels during this time. We welcome all our guests to park their car (for free) and enjoy the opportunity to stay close to work and/or work from home-away-from-home at The Maxwell Hotel!

We have great rates and several fantastic promotions, such as getting every third consecutive night completely free! Stay with us, take a dip in the heated pool, avoid traffic and work from your room! What could be simpler? Restrictions apply, so please contact our team at 866.866.7977 to find out more!

Yappy Success Thanks to Good Friends!

We had a great time at Yappy Hour welcoming dozens of dogs and their people to The Maxwell Hotel. Thanks to Hot Dogs in the Park for providing delicious treats for the people and to Dorothy Moore of The Dining Dog, who served our four-legged friends her gourmet, hand-crafted cookies and scones.

The people got some sweets, too…thanks to Sweet Teeth of Renton for creating a delicious cake with a yummy dog on it…Sweet Teeth also created cute dog-themed cupcakes, which again, were as delicious as they were attractive!  Check out the photos on their site!

Together, we raised funds to support the Seattle Humane Society of King County and cultivated a few new friendships while doing it!

Our friends at Seattle Weekly came by to take some pictures of our VIPs (Very Important Puppies) and their people.

Thanks to Q13Fox anchor Lily Jang for being our toastmaster and host for this doggone fun night!

As a result of this event, we have a confirmed successful dog-adoption….however in this case, it was more the dog adopting the new people. Please meet Hank. Hank has decided to live with Charley – a black lab who has been looking forward to a little brother for quite some time. Welcome Hank!

Happy Adoptee thanks to Yappy Hour

Bumbershoot – It’s coming!

When it comes to summer concert festivals you really can’t go wrong with Lollapolooza in Chicago or Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee. However, these festivals might not exist if not for the success of their predecessor.  Since 1971, in Seattle, Labor Day weekend  has become synonymous with one name, Bumbershoot. Sure, on the surface, Bumbershoot is a celebration of music; but it’s much more than that. It’s a community gathering of music, arts and entertainment, food and people! You’ll catch up with old friends while making new friends; all the while taking in the sights and sounds of Seattle’s local talent mixed with nationally recognized musicians & artists.

While Bumbershoot is a colloquial term for umbrella, the only weather related accessory you will need for the weekend is a pair of sunglasses.

The Maxwell Hotel is only three short blocks away from the venue and we still have a few rooms available. Remember, The Maxwell Hotel offers FREE PARKING for all registered hotel guests on a first come first serve basis! So come down, get a room, park your car and enjoy the festivities at your leisure!

Smells like Teen Spirit!

Looking for that Quintessential-Seattle “thing” to do for your vacation? How about stepping back to 1990?! Located, just steps from the Maxwell hotel, the world famous Experience Music Project is presenting “Nirvana – Taking Punk to the Masses”.

Naturally, Seattle is known for Microsoft, Boeing and Starbucks. However, nothing epitomizes Seattle (with our mixture of gloomy weather and way of life) the way Grunge music did. In the late 1980’s Nirvana took the underground Seattle Sound, to the mainstream with “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. What became the anthem of the 90’s and the voice of a new generation, started right here in downtown Seattle.

This expansive exhibit at EMP/SFM is made mostly of memorabilia pulled from the basement of Nirvana bassist, turned political activist, Krist Novoselic. Throughout the exhibit you will find many photos, handwritten lyric sheets, old equipment and several other artifacts from Seattle’s most well-known grunge band.

The exhibit is open daily from 10:00am through 5:00pm. Tickets are priced between $12 – $18. Please visit www.empsfm.org for more information.

The Maxwell and Seattle Humane Society Team Up to Get “Yappy”

“National Dog Day” is on Friday, August 26, so please join us for a “Yappy Hour” tweet-up!

Tickets are $20 and include yummy food, pineapple “puptails” (non-alcoholic) and lots of “dog-gone” fun. Plus, pups go home with a “doggy bag”! 100% of proceeds from the event benefit the Seattle Humane Society. (*Alcohol available for purchase)

Get tickets below or at: http://maxwellhotelyappyhour.eventbrite.com/

We’ll be giving away free overnight stays at any one of the four Pineapple Hospitality hotels in the Seattle-area and other prizes for pups that are best-dressed, ugliest (in a cute way, of course), look most like their owner, have the shiniest coat and more.

So buy your ticket, bring a bag of dog food to donate at the door and enjoy the night with us, the great people of Pineapple Hospitality and the Seattle Humane Society!

We’re working with Seattle Humane Society to host a fundraiser. We encourage all of our Pineapple friends to join us (with or without their pooches) at The Maxwell Hotel! Our event is being promoted by our friend Lily Jang from Q13 Fox News This Morning, who is hoping to find a puppy during the event.

Insider Tip: The MAX Mobile will be arriving with adoptable cuddly dogs during the event! What a great time to welcome a new member to your family!

Arriving July 5th?

During the week of July 4th, Seattle welcomes thousands of delegates of  The International Lions Club. This group will bring thousands of local, regional, national and international guests to our area and we could not be more excited about it! Many of them will be staying in our hotel and we look forward to welcoming you!

If you are arriving to The Maxwell Hotel on July 5th, please be advised that authorities are planning on significant road closures during the scheduled Lions parade. The gathering point is at Seattle Center, which is very close to us in Lower Queen Anne. Please review the link below and give yourself extra time to drive (or walk!) in the Seattle area.

The planned closures are from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm and will likely create traffic back-ups during that time.

So, please be safe, take your time and we’ll be sure to save you some delicious Pineapple Cupcakes for your arrival!

The Maxwell Hotel Animated Tour

Seattle Dining – a topic for the New York Times

Delighted to read about the wonderful (and beloved) and seemingly endless dining options for visitors and locals in and around Seattle! Today, we found an article in the New York Times travel section! It features some eclectic dining options all around town.

We’ve always had a palate for  fresh, local products and it’s great to read about it again and again! Thankfully, our city is so walkable and easy to get around in, that venturing out to experience one, two or all of the restaurants, bars, speakeasies, diners, cafes or sandwich trucks is a great way to get to know the city. We were also delighted to read that one of our favorites is featured in the article; Knee High Stocking Co. in Capitol Hill. Click on their “Find Us” tab for directions and an explanation of how to get a table or spot at the bar. Cheers!
